Sanjeevani in Brief:

Sanjeevani which means giving life to others is a Non-Government development organization registered and managed by a group of social workers and management professionals of varied skills. It works with people and community to evolve together sustainable measures to improve their conditions by developing their ability to mobilize, manage, and control local resources by themselves. Sanjeevani being established in 1990 primarily focused on the burning problem of child selling in western Orissa due to drought and poverty. It worked as a catalyst agency to restore the children with their biological parents through different need based programmes. Again Sanjeevani includes programmes like integrated rural development, integrated family and child development, sustainable agricultural development and issue-based programmes like gender equity, human rights as well women and child rights protection. Of course, in emergencies like flood, cyclone and drought situations, Sanjeevani has always been a front agency to reach the affected people. In the process, Sanjeevani is able to avail a greater cooperation from a number of NGOs, INGOs and Government agencies elicited for an optimum cooperation to strengthen the confidence to our activities to outreach the goals. The organization does not claim to have achieved total success in all the development projects but has dedicated its efforts to reach the unreached.
